Roe v. Wade Anniversary Action Event

WOMEN'S WAY, Raising Women's Voices of Southeastern Pennsylvania, and Pennsylvanians For Choice held a Roe v. Wade Anniversary Action Event on Friday, January 20, 2012, from noon to 1:00 pm on Broad and Walnut Streets.  This outdoor "honk and wave" visibility event in Center City, Philadelphia helped us reflect on what is at stake for women and tell our lawmakers enough is enough! We are fed up with the on going attacks on women's reproductive health.

WOMEN’S WAY Announces New Grantmaking Program

PHILADELPHIA, PA – November 17, 2011 – After three years of planning, WOMEN’S WAY is turning up the volume of its “powerful voice for women,” changing the way funds raised by the organization are distributed throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.  The organization, born out of fundraising necessity for women’s issues 35 years ago, is evolving to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world.

New Website

Welcome to WOMEN'S WAY's brand new website! We just launched the site on 11/15/11. We are still working on posting more content and working out the bugs. If you come across a typo, a problem navigating the site, or have feedback or ideas for improvements, please e-mail Sarah Friedman. We'd love to hear from you. Thanks for visiting.

Anti-Human Trafficking Victory!

WOMEN'S WAY is thrilled to share exciting news from Harrisburg! On October 18, 2011, the National Human Trafficking Resource Center Hotline Act (SB 338) was unanimously voted out of the Senate Labor & Industry Committee!  This state legislation, sponsored by Senator Daylin Leach, would require posting of the National Hotline so trafficking victims can call to get help.

Earned Sick Days Victory in Philadelphia

On October 13, 2011, City Council voted 15-2 to add earned sick days to our city living wage legislation, which covers employers who contract with the city, companies receiving city subsidies, and tenants who lease office space in buildings that received subsidies.  Philadelphia now becomes the first city in the country to make earned sick days part of their living wage ordinance.

Contraception Is Prevention Victory

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) made a significant advance for women's health by announcing that private health insurers must cover contraception without charging women co-pays!  Raising Women's Voices of Southeastern Pennsylvania, the women's health coalition led by WOMEN'S WAY, has been advocating for the adoption of this measure and is thrilled by the news!

New Class of Directors

WOMEN’S WAY is pleased to announce the addition of five new board members, effective September 1, 2011. All were elected to a three year term.
