A Change of Pace: Accelerating Women’s Progress is WOMEN'S WAY's signature research report. This trusted regional assessment of women’s socioeconomic status shows where women stand in terms of key issues such as earnings, safety, health care, caregiving, reproductive rights, and political representation. A Change of Pace also serves as a call to action through specific policy recommendations shaped by a community advisory board made up of many WOMEN’S WAY funded agencies and community leaders.
This report examines the many challenges women face today such as the continuing gender wage gap; the impact of scarce affordable housing, health care and child care on women’s socioeconomic security; continuing threats of violence against women; limitations on reproductive freedom; and the gross under-representation of women in corporate and government leadership positions.
A Change of Pace was first released in 2003 as part of WOMEN'S WAY's 25th Anniversary celebration and most recently updated in 2008. Since its first release, A Change of Pace has become a valued tool and resource in our community for stepping up the pace of progress for women, girls and families in the region.
