Cheryl Martin is a devoted WOMEN'S WAY supporter. She is a strategic and critical thinker whose volunteer involvement at WOMEN'S WAY has had a profoundly positive impact on our mission and work.
Early in her professional career, Cheryl worked for a corporation with a strong culture of philanthropy. In fact, her employer so deeply believed in giving back that they had a matching gift program, community initiative grants, and encouraged employees to participate in their workplace giving campaign and undertake outreach programs with their colleagues. Inspired and motivated by this philosophy, Cheryl began donating to WOMEN'S WAY.
"From my earliest memories as a child through my years at Rohm and Haas, giving back has simply been part of what you do -- it became part of who I am. I learned that your time, talent and treasure should be shared." - Cheryl Martin
As a loyal WOMEN'S WAY supporter for the past eleven years, her volunteer involvement has included fundraising, board service, and most recently she has applied her strategic and critical thinking to service on our Development Strategy Committee where members play a critical role in advising WOMEN'S WAY's communication and fundraising efforts.
Cheryl has been a great asset to WOMEN'S WAY and continues to stretch her giving capacity. In fact she is on a mission to inspire and motivate other young women to give. Cheryl feels passionate about ensuring the best possible future for struggling women, girls and families in our region and she knows it takes a united effort. For a young woman just starting out in her career, having the resources to make an impact can be a challenge so Cheryl helped us finish out our 2011 fiscal year with a successful challenge to the Young Women's Initiative.
