Saia (she/her) is studying behavioral health and human services. She enjoys watching her favorite TV shows in their entirety, listening to music, and spending time with her grandchildren. Saia speaks passionately about her struggles with food insecurity and debt from credit cards and education loans – which have prevented her from buying a home. These issues are related to her limited knowledge of financial literacy. She expects to feel more self-assured and deserving of herself at the end of the Fellowship and to learn how to convey her narrative in a way that sounds less tragic and more triumphant.

Saia believes she is at a point in her life where she is learning to live again, forgiving herself for her past mistakes, allowing herself to be guided to a better and healthier way of life, and changing her life’s Narrative to one of hope and promise. Saia is convinced that the Change the Narrative Fellowship embodies positivity beautifully and will guide her to where she wants to go.

“Like a phoenix, we can all rise from the ashes.”
