Gender-based violence is an endemic in our society that takes many forms—domestic violence, sexual assault, street harassment, rape, human trafficking, and more. After 38 years as a funder of women- and girl-serving agencies, WOMEN’S WAY has deep knowledge of the social and political root causes of gender-based violence and what it will take to end it.
We have worked on campaigns to end human trafficking in Pennsylvania, a heinous and violent crime that disproportionately affects women and girls, through implementation of the recently passed Act 105. We also strive toward an end to gender-based violence through convening community members and partners each year at the Women’s Issues Summit and One Billion Rising for Justice. WOMEN’S WAY advocates for the Pennsylvania Agenda for Women’s Health, a package of pro-woman, pro-choice legislation which includes bills that address domestic violence and intimate partner harassment.
