Sustaining a nonprofit: Matching Money with Mission
Presented by Linshuang Lu, Praxis Consulting Group
Friday, October 17 from 12 – 1:30pm
One of the core challenges of running a sustainable nonprofit is integrating mission and money. How can you secure the resources to support your mission? What if financially profitable activities are distracting you from your mission? And how do you avoid spending time on activities that yield little money and little impact? Come to this workshop to learn how to assess the mission impact and profitability of your programs using the Nonprofit Sustainability Matrix from Nonprofit Sustainability: Making Strategic Decisions for Financial Viability (Jeanne Bell, Jan Masaoka & Steve Zimmerman). Please be ready to take out your pencils and calculators out to assess your organization. You will also have the opportunity to discuss with others what you are learning and hoping to improve in your organization. There will be a 15-30 minute homework assignment to prepare for this workshop.
