WOMEN’S WAY To Honor 2x World Cup Champions Christen Press and Tobin Heath at Annual Celebration

Philadelphia’s leading nonprofit dedicated to advancing gender and racial equity will present its highest honor to 2 USWNT Players for their work fighting for equal pay and rights.

PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 14, 2024) – WOMEN’S WAY is proud to announce that renowned athletes, Christen Press and Tobin Heath, will be honored with the prestigious Lucretia Mott Award at the 46th Annual Celebration: Equity Champions Unite on May 22nd, 2024.

As two-time World Cup Champions and pay equity trailblazers, Press and Heath have not only demonstrated unparalleled athleticism but have also emerged as powerful advocates for gender equity through their fight for equal pay and rights. Co-founders and CEOs of RE–INC, a lifestyle brand bound by a joyful fervor for progress and equity, they have further solidified their commitment to creating and inspiring a better future for women and girls. Despite their soccer commitments preventing in-person attendance at the 46th Annual Celebration, Press and Heath will share an exclusive virtual acceptance speech, highlighting their groundbreaking efforts in advancing gender equity both on and off the field.

This year’s Lucretia Mott Award will be jointly presented by Renee Washington, Analyst with PHLY Sports and ESPN, and Carly Nájera, Member of the Women’s Leadership Group for Philadelphia Women’s Pro Soccer and Board Member of Kensington Soccer. In addition, the event will also honor Jennifer Rice with the Gender Equity Champion Award (presented by Michael Forman) and recognize ZS and Working for Women with the inaugural Corporate Ally Award.

Established in 1978 to honor the great 19th-century pioneer of women’s rights, the Lucretia Mott Award is bestowed annually upon an outstanding American woman or organization whose work reflects a commitment to the values of equity, justice, and peace for all. This award is presented every year at the WOMEN’S WAY Annual Celebration. Past honorees have included Coretta Scott King, Marian Anderson, Gloria Steinem, Lynn Yeakel, Marty Moss-Coane, Dr. Amy Gutmann, Dr. Ala Stanford, Kathryn Kolbert, Esq., and many other incredible women.

ABOUT TOBIN HEATH

Tobin Heath is a 2x World Cup Champion for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team, an equal pay trailblazer, and the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of RE—INC. She is a 4x Olympian, with two gold medals and a bronze medal. She is known as one of the most skillful and entertaining players in the game. Throughout her club career, Heath has played for PSG, the Portland Thorns, Manchester United, and Arsenal. Tobin brings her vision, leadership, and creativity as a Co-CEO of RE—INC, a values-led brand that exists to reimagine the way women are seen and experienced in sports. ABOUT CHRISTEN PRESS

Christen Press is a 2x World Cup Champion for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team, an equal pay trailblazer, and the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of RE—INC. She is one of the top 10 goalscorers ever on the USWNT and holds the scoring record at Stanford. Christen currently plays for Angel City FC. Christen led the USWNT’s historic achievement of Equal Pay and served as the leader of the USWNT Players Associate for 2 years. For four years, Christen has been the CEO, and now Co-CEO of RE—INC, a values-led brand that exists to reimagine the way women are seen and experienced in sports. She is a 2-year Board Member of Grassroots Soccer, a non-profit organization that uses the power of soccer to provide mentors, information, and health services to at-risk youth in Africa.
