Join us for a community screening and conversation honoring Philadelphia’s LGBTQ+ history!

On October 21st from 6–8 p.m., WOMEN’S WAY is collaborating with Big Picture Alliance and Kelly Burkhardt Media for a community screening of THE GLORIA! PROJECT, a short documentary exploring the life and legacy of Gloria Casarez, a queer Latinx civil rights leader who grew up in Philadelphia and served as the city's first Director of LGBT Affairs.

Following this screening, several LGBTQ+ leaders will come together to reflect on Philadelphia’s LGBTQ+ history, the movements that shaped our city, and what Gloria’s legacy can teach us about the work still ahead.

As Philadelphia celebrates 250 years and WOMEN’S WAY celebrates 50 years of advancing gender equity, we’re taking a moment to honor the communities and leaders who have helped move our city forward. Let’s celebrate how far we’ve come without losing sight of what we’re still up against.

Doors open at 6 for attendees to enjoy light fare at a pre-reception. Screening begins at 6:30.
