The Gender Wealth Summit is where the region comes together to build lasting connections, strengthen collective practices, and drive momentum for gender and economic equity.

Through a mix of panels, workshops, and group discussions, the Summit is a half-day event that deepens our understanding of the gender wealth gap and challenges us to explore a more expansive definition of wealth and the economy. At the Summit, we reimagine what our communities can look like when there is access for all people, especially those most impacted by gender equity, to the conditions and resources necessary to thrive.

Whether you’ve been doing the work for years or you’re new to the conversation, this is a space built for connection, ongoing learning, and honest dialogue.

Who is the Gender Wealth Summit for?

The Summit is for anyone committed to a more just and equitable future. That means you’re welcome here, wherever you are in your journey!

Each year, around 120 people join us for this half-day event, representing a wide range of sectors, backgrounds, and experiences. Whether you’ve been doing this work for years or you’re just starting to explore these ideas, you’ll find a space to learn, find a community, and deepen your commitment to gender and economic equity.

What does it cost to attend the Gender Wealth Summit?

Tickets are sliding scale, starting at $25.

Our full-price ticket is $120, which is what is actually costs to put on the event.

If you’re able to pay more (Redistributive Ticket), you’re not just covering your own entry but also helping to make it possible for someone else to be in the room, too.

What do you mean by wealth?

Throughout our work, WOMEN’S WAY has adopted The Maven Collaborative’s definition of wealth:

“When wealth is accumulated, we live and retire with greater dignity, freedom, and peace of mind. Our communities are prosperous, resilient, and future generations have the freedom to dream big and become all they truly can be. We are healthy, and know that our family, networks, and communities are healthy, spiritually whole, and contributing.”

This definition centers collectivism, interdependence, and self-determination. We believe it offers richer framing and illuminates deeper outcomes that are in direct resistance to the traditional definition of wealth.

What is the Gender Wealth Gap?

The Gender Wealth Gap measures the amount of financial assets women own relative to men (NWLC: Gender Wealth Gap).*

The Gender Wealth Gap is a more powerful indicator of economic insecurity than the pay gap. It reflects people’s ability to handle financial challenges today and build security for the future. Like racial injustice or climate change, the Gender Wealth Gap is a systemic problem that requires systemic solutions. You can learn more about the Gender Wealth Gap here.

*The Federal Reserve calculates this gap based on tax income forms, which don’t account for gender diversity beyond the cisgender binary.

What is the WOMEN’S WAY Gender Wealth Framework?

Traditional measures of wealth, like income or savings, leave out the realities of gender-marginalized people. Thriving requires more than money. It requires security, dignity, freedom, and joy.

The Gender Wealth Framework is a resource created by WOMEN’S WAY for anyone working to advance a future where we can all thrive. It helps by:

-Challenging the narratives that perpetuate gender wealth inequity

-Centering collectivism, interdependence, and self-determination

-Encouraging reflection on how policies and institutions align with equity goals

-Prioritizing success as defined by the participant, not top-down metrics

We know that systems change is needed to achieve gender and economic equity, but how do we actually move it from concept to action?

This year’s Summit, “From Mindset to Movement,” is about shifting from an understanding of what we’re up against to exploring what it takes to apply gender equity in practice. Expect to participate in hands-on discussions about the systems that are keeping gender inequities locked in place, expand your capacity for change through mindfulness and grounding practices, and hear from local leaders who will share their personal journeys as advocates and how they are putting a gender equity mindset into action.

Whether you represent a nonprofit looking to deepen your impact, a funder looking to align practices with values, or you’re a community member who wants to turn passion into action, this space is for you. Join others from across sectors and experiences who care deeply about advancing a more equitable future and leave with a renewed sense of how to implement change in the places you work, live, and lead.

Below are the key concepts we will be exploring more deeply at this year’s summit. When registering, you will be prompted to choose one topic that you want to spend extra time on. If any of these concepts seem unfamiliar or intimidating, please know that we will unpack them together.

Cis-Heteropatriarchy

A social system in which cisgender, heterosexuality and male dominance are privileged, sustaining gender and sexual hierarchies across institutions and culture. (Cisgender individuals, as opposed to transgender individuals, identify as the gender they were assigned at birth)

Racial Capitalism

A global economic system in which wealth and resources are accumulated through the social and economic exploitation of Black, brown, and indigenous people. Learn more here.

The ideology that prioritizes and normalizes the concentration of wealth and power in the hands of a few, at the expense of social equity and collective well-being. Learn more here.
