The Therapy Center of Philadelphia’s (TCP) mission is to nurture individual well-being and personal growth by providing high-quality, affordable psychotherapeutic services to women, transgender, and gender non-conforming communities. They work from an intersectional framework that attends to aspects of social location and oppression as integral to the therapy relationship and work.
Through GEEP, TCP hopes to both gain valuable insights and share their unique perspective through participation in the learning cohort. After more than 50 years serving marginalized communities, they have developed expertise in gender-affirming care while continuously evolving their approach. This reciprocal learning opportunity comes at a pivotal moment as they expand their accessibility through Medicaid paneling. They hope to learn innovative approaches to implementing gender equity within care systems from other cohort members. They also seek strategies for demonstrating the effectiveness of gender-affirming, anti-racist clinical approaches to influence broader system change in mental health care.
