WOMEN'S WAY Reacts to General Election Results
For Immediate Release | Philadelphia, PA | November 6, 2024
The following is a statement by Diane Cornman-Levy, Chief Disruptor at WOMEN'S WAY:
“In a nation that prides itself on opportunity—where generations of young girls have been told they can be anything they aspire to—the presidency has, for too long, symbolized an unbreakable ceiling.
Following an election cycle rife with division, misogyny, racism, and hate, our country’s political landscape highlights the ongoing challenges to advancing gender equity and protecting our democracy. From proposed rollbacks on reproductive rights and attacks on LGBTQIA+ protections to reduced investments in essential supports for low-income families, these actions disproportionately impact and harm women, girls, and gender-oppressed communities.
In the face of these threats, our commitment is stronger than ever. WOMEN’S WAY stands firm in our mission to build collective power that dismantles oppressive systems and fosters alternative models rooted in love, dignity, and liberation. Together, we work toward a future where every person—especially those historically impacted by gender inequities–has security, dignity, freedom, and joy.”
