About This Event:
"Abortion Helpline, This is Lisa" Screening and Discussion about Anti-Abortion Clinics
On Tuesday, January 24th, 2023 at 12:00 PM EST, WOMEN’S WAY and the Young Women’s Initiative will host an event with our grantee partner, the Abortion Liberation Fund. We will start by screening the short documentary, "Abortion Helpline, This is Lisa" which will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with the Director of Client Services at ALF, Marah. We will then welcome the Executive Director at ALF, Elicia, to host an information session on Anti-Abortion Centers (also known as Crisis Pregnancy Centers). This is a free, virtual event. All are welcome to attend!
What is an Anti-Abortion Center? Anti-Abortion Centers, frequently known as Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs) or Pregnancy Centers, intentionally mislead pregnant people to prevent them from accessing abortion care. They often look like real health centers, but they're run by anti-abortion activists who have a harmful agenda to pressure individuals out of getting an abortion and to tell lies about abortion, birth control, and sexual health. #SHUTDOWNAACS
